The first time I saw this flower, it was because my husband pointed it out to me. I thought it was just another Erodium (filaree). But then we looked at it more closely, and it was something new! That one flower and one more small plant a couple of years later was all that I had ever found--until March 2020, when I found a tiny patch on the Devil's Backbone Trail.
